Paint correction is the process of leveling (removing) imperfections in the surface of the paint. This can include a variety of issues and causes like water spots, paint over spray, wash scratches, wipe down marks, bird dropping surface stains, oxidation and buffer holograms. This process can involve a significant amount of time. We have spent over 60 hours on one vehicle, but, 6-12 hours is typical of most vehicles depending on the size that is. It involves using special polishers in different sizes, many different levels of diminishing abrasives, different compounding/polishing pads and sometimes even sand paper. Our process is different on every paint job. They can vary in hardness, thickness, and depth of imperfections. Every vehicle requires a different process or combination of machines based on the curves of the panels.
A lot of the cars today believe it or not could stand to use a bit of polishing. You might be wondering “Doesn’t a ‘buff and wax’ take care of all that?” In most cases, not usually. We have a solid team that has been doing this for so many years to know that most clients have varying definitions of why a ‘buff’ job actually is. For the most part, it seems to mean applying a layer of wax with an applicator and then buffing it off with a towel. That is the most common procedure and can create an appearance that looks amazing because the paint has been cleansed but under the right lighting like the sun, all the defects can and will be exposed.
We care about doing it right the first time ultimately because that is how it should be. It is very unrealistic to see every car in your sight to look perfect or for every car owner to care. We here at Cali’s Touch has the knowledge, experience and skills to ensure that we execute the best quality at the end of our projects. After all, our results don’t lie.
THIS OPTION IS AMAZING FOR LIGHT COLORED VEHICLES , DAILY DRIVERS, AND VEHICLES THAT HAVE UNDER 1,000 MILES. THIS SINGLE STEP PROCESS MAY ONLY REMOVE 70% OF SWIRLS, HAZE AND OXIDATION. THIS PROCESS BEGINS BY POLISHING THE PAINT WORK IN ONE STAGE OR ONE STEP WITH ONLY ONE TYPE OF POLISH AND PAD COMBINATION. THIS IS COMPLETED BY APPLYING A PAINT SEALANT OR PROFESSIONAL GRADE COATING.
THIS OPTION IS SUITABLE FOR DARK COLORED, AND/OR NEGLECTED USED VEHICLES. THIS PROCEDURE MAY REMOVE BETWEEN 80-90% OF DEFECTS THAT LEVEL ONE MAY NOT EXECUTE. THIS PROCESS INVOLVES USING 2 DIFFERENT POLISH AND PAD COMBINATIONS; THE FIRST STEP IS GENERALLY A CUTTING (ABRASIVE) POLISH TO REMOVE IMPERFECTIONS SUCH AS SWIRL MARKS, LIGHT SCRATCHES, AND OTHER MODERATE PAINT DEFECTS. THIS IS FOLLOWED BY A FINISHING POLISH AND FINISHING PAD TO REFINE THE PAINT WORK EVEN FUTHER BY REMOVING ANY MARRING OR HOLOGRAMS LEFT BY THE PREVIOUS STEP. IT IS ALL FINALIZED BY APPLYING A PAINT SEALANT OR PROFESSIONAL GRADE COATING TO PROTECT THE PAINT WORK.
THIS OPTION IS RECOMMENDED FOR EXOTIC, SHOW ROOM, AND CLASSIC/VINTAGE VEHICLES. THIS PROCEDURE MAY REMOVE UP TO 95-98% OF HEAVIER AND SEVERE SCRATCHES. THIS EXTENSIVE AND DELICATE PROCESS INVOLVES USING 3 DIFFERENT POLISH AND PAD COMBINATIONS. SOMETIMES, THIS CAN ALSO INCLUDE WET SANDING FOR HEAVIER/DEEPER SCRATCHES. THIS IS FOLLOWED BY A CUTTING POLISH AND POLISHING PAD TO REMOVE FURTHER SWIRL MARKS. TO FINALIZE, A FINISHING POLISH AND FINISHING PAD IS USED TO REFINE THE PAINT WORK TO A SWIRL, MAR AND HOLOGRAM FREE FINISH. A PAINT SEALANT OR PROFESSIONAL GRADE COATING IS APPLIED TO PROTECT THE PAINT WORK.
